Basic tips for playing TDM without parties
This is coming from someone that averages 1.2-2.0 KDR per round so I'm an average player. The tips are meant for people in this group or below. Often times I play online by myself on TDM, without parties. There are some things that I have found to be helpful and annoying about playing on random teams.
1) Basic hardware: Just get large headphones and a decent mic. Some people want to communicate, but their sound is horrible. Too much echo from the TV, their mic is too far away, etc. Just route all the sound to the headphones and mute the TV. I tape the bluetooth mic to my boom. I got PS3 and I'm on the cheap side and haven't gone to Turtle Beaches yet. You will also appreciate the ninja pro perk a lot more with headphones.
2) Moving around the map: It's annoying when players bunch up behind an obstacle and all get taken out at once by a nade. Spread out. I don't want the enemy getting double kills around every corner, causing the game to end quickly. Though I like getting these kills and know how to take advantage of the little herds that inevitably come my way, it can really get laughable on my own random team.
3) Team work: Without parties, team work can seem really pointless. But there are ways of working it into your game play. I get lots of Rescuer, Avenger and assists because I keep my distance from team mates and cover them as they go in to some hot spots. Often times, my team mate survives and is probably wondering what happened to all the gunfire that was raining from overhead. People just don't expect someone to be actively covering others. I've learned to clear out some popular camping spots with this tactic. Some players are just noobs sometimes, rushing too quickly into ambushes, so I unfortunately end up using them as bait. Oh well, enjoy your claymore sandwich.
4) KDR: This is often a controversial statistic. Campers might get KDR of 6.0, but only have 6 kills. Someone with 20 kills and KDR 1.1 are pulling a lot of the weight and could probably use your help, even if your KDR goes down 2.0, winning the match still matters. Keeping your KDR even just slightly above 1.0 is a good strategy during a match. If your aggressive gameplay is just giving you a 0.5 half-way into a round, seriously think about slowing down instead of giving the enemy easy kills and ending the game early.
Anyways, those are some things I think about as a person who has played COD for about 9 months. But maybe the tactics change more players aim for higher KDRs. Would want to read what people have to say about getting consistent KDR >2.0 for TDM or Free For All. Is it just camping? I hope not.

Nice tips man, very concise and comprehensive. It's not all camping in my opinion. I move from cover to cover, would rather have some cover in front of me when I engage the enemy. So I might get behind a barrel or sandbags or something, check out the area for a couple secs to get a kill or two then I move to the next position. I rarely use claymores and wont be in a room with a claymore behind me camping and such. I do use clays when the other team is using them a lot or for times when I want to leave a present for any people coming back for revenge kills, I simply plant it where I think they are coming after they spawn and I move on.

^^^ i do the same as him sit for a few second then move around yet i get called a camper? i dont think that is the correct way to describe my game play, im more like a ambusher? But thanks for the tips my friends dont really play with me or should i say i dont play with them cos they frankly ruin my game and i lose the majority when the go like 10 kills to 20 ish deaths im not a one man army

Moving around is important. Stay in one place too long and everyone will eventally just kill you.

Great post and hopefully some if it will sink into My thick skull....I'm a rusher that doesn't have patience and I have the absolutely worst timing...someone's not coming when I'm watching a line of sight and as soon as I move the suddenly are there and kicking My ass...I have been trying to listen to everyone's different play styles so correcting My weaknesses is about as easy as fixing My terrible golf swing...just keeps taking practice, practice, practice

Thanks for the tips. I play by myself most of the time, and I agree with everything you said. A lot of times, I will just hang back and follow from a distance one of my noob teammates. I will just use him as bait and let him go in and get shot up, then while the enemy is reloading i run in and gun em down, or throw a flashbang in.
