Black Ops Care Packages: What are the Odds?

Does it seem like every Care Package you thrown down in Black Ops ends up giving you a UAV, Ammo or one of the lower killstreak rewards? Not only is there a good reason for that (so the game isn’t full of Mini Guns, Choppers and Dogs ), but Treyarch were nice enough to leave the exact percentages of getting each of the killstreaks in a Care Package within the code on the disc.

Here is a explanation of how these percentages are calculated:

percentage of drop explanation:
add all of the numbers up: 15 + 2 + 3 + etc. = 80 for example
now if you want to know the percentage of the minigun_mp drop, you’d do (minigun_mp number / total) or 2/80 = 2.5% chance of dropping
right now this is at a perfect 100, so the percentages are easy to understand

First Package
Ammo - 20%
Spy Plane - 15%
Counter Spy Plane - 15%
RC Car - 9%
Sam Turret - 5%
Mortar Team - 5%
Sentry Gun - 5%
Valkyrie Rockets - 5%
Rolling Thunder - 3%
Grim Reaper - 3%
Napalm - 3%
Blackbird 3%
Attack Helicopter - 3%
Death Machine - 2%
Chopper Gunner - 2%
Dogs - 1%
Gunship - 1%

Nah. Depends on map / game mode imo. Wouldn't use napalm on Array TDM for example. I switch them depending on the map I play on.

I generally don't switch just so I can complete challenges for certain killstreaks. But then again I usually only play demo, so the killstreaks I have set are what I like to use for demo anyway.
