What is the difference between the Red Dot and the Reflex Sight?

I don't use reflex or rds any longer, but the rds is best on the M-14 and Reflex is what I run with the Commando. I like iron sights on most of the other guns and maybe ACOGs on the Aug or M-16

I don't use anything but iron sights on any rifle and IMO rds or rflx make ADS a bit slower, has anyone noticed or is it just me?
