How to Capture Your Kills
Unfortunately to capture quality videos, it will cost some money (around $200).
Hi Def Solution
The best way to do this would be with a HD PVR from Happauge or a Hava HD device.
using the above devices will allow you to record in HD but more importantly you can play on your TV in HD.
Now if you don't have an HD TV or don't care about playing in HD you can use the below methods. If you currently play in HD, you do NOT want to play in SD... the difference is HUGE.
Standard Definition Solution
The below video will show you in a step by step how to do this (not me in the video):
The Pinnacle Dazzle DVD Recorder ($49) can be found on Tiger Direct. The $89 Plus Version is listed on the left sidebar.
You can also find both versions on Amazon. $70 - $80 - Plus version. $44 - $47 - Standard Version

Yes, for desktop computers that would probably work. Most laptops don't have a slot for HDMI or component cables. Either way a good capture card to record quality vids is still going to cost a pretty penny.
With the Hava or HD PVR it gives you the ability to record tv shows and movies as well.

Ah. I see I see.
I didn't know there was another option to do that kind of stuff.
I always thought you needed just a capture card.
Thanks for the info

It acts like a capture card in essence. You still need a decent video card and processor to do this b/c it will take up a lot of your pc resources.

So it's pretty much a DVR for your Xbox/PS3?

Yup, just uses your PC or Laptop as the harddrive and processor.

$179 I think for the HAVA. HD PVR is more $200 to $250.
I personally use the HD PVR and can recommend it.

If you want something awesome for a Laptop PC, not a Mac unfortunately, here is what I would recommend, the Intensity Shuttle.
heres the link
Blackmagic Design: Intensity
