All this talk about 3 games in 2 years and new gaming studios is making me wonder, will there actually ever be a Modern Warfare 3? If so, what the hell is going to happen to Soap and Price?

bungie joined activision, respawn entertainment was formed from people who left IW, IW are still together and so are treyarch so who knows whats going to happen, alot of companies that can make CoD good are available its who activision chooses and even if they feel that they want to make more CoD and keep the frachise going.

Pretty much. I would love to see a new one but not in the near future at all. Let them retune MW2 more so they get rid of all the defects and glitches when it comes to multiplayer. I would love to see a new one though. Maybe even a whole new crew for campaign? I would play it. & Hopefully Respawn takes that bid . Just so they can show who the fuck is the BOSS.

It hasn't even been a year since MW2's release and your asking if MW3 will EVER come? Expect it in 2012 from Infinity Ward. Soap and Price are escaping with Nikolai to "a place", the United States is taking the war to Russia, and Makarov is still on the run.

Bungie will not make a Call of Duty game. They are currently working on a new IP that will be published by Activision for the next 10 years.

Respawn Entertainment is partnered with Electronic Arts and will not make a Call of Duty game either. Expect a new IP from them as well.

Yes there is a new MW3 in the works. From my understanding it will be produced by Sledgehammer which is the new studio that Activision hired now that IW is pretty much gone.

IW or now Respawn entertainment do not have the rights to ModernWarfare, as of now. That is in with the lawsuit though because there was a verbal agreement that iw develops would keep the MW name.

Infinity Ward is still a studio. The ones that decided to stay with their current company are making Modern Warfare 3.

Sledgehammer Games Making Call Of Duty For 2011, Activision Confirms Infinity Ward Firings

"They also revealed that Sledgehammer Games, a studio formed by former Visceral Games heads Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey, is creating a COD game "that will extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre"

Also look here for current IW employees left. Not even enough or even main peole to create a mw3.

We've known about Sledgehammer Games creating a Call of Duty game for a while now, with a thread right here. If Sledgehammer was going to make Modern Warfare 3, they wouldn't change the genre and gameplay of the past two successful games. Also, I believe (not positive) that Infinity Ward has 'Modern Warfare' copyrighted.

There are plenty of people left to make a game at Infinity Ward. Besides, they can hire more employees. There is plenty of talent out there.
