I'm curious what controller layout everyone uses? I've always used the standard one, but I wondered if other players use something else.

I've always used the the default layout. It seems the easiest to me, I couldn't change now.
I use tactical because it lets me dropshot/crouch without ever moving my thumb. It also prevents me from panic knifing.
I used to make arrow to the knee jokes like you.
BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT THEY'RE STUPID.
Same here. Standard layout all the way. I do have a friend though who plays on legacy I believe. He said it helps him dropshot. Needless to say I hate playing against him haha.
I was using tactical but switched back to default when I got a SCUF controller. Knife with thumbstick and crouch prone with right paddle.
I changed mine to tactical about a month ago. It took a little while to get used to, but I def think it will help in the long run. I dropshot now without even trying to, and that has saved my ass several times. It also helps you to crouch when going around corners and into rooms. Like the other poster said too, it will stop you from panic knifing. Knifing has been the hardest part to get used to though. I have died several times charging someone to knife only to crouch and them kill me. Overall, I would recommend the tactical layout, just once you start using it you have to take some extra deaths for a little until it just becomes natural.
I was thinking about switching to tactical so that I would be able to dropshot. I'm sure it will take a little while to get used to it, but long term I think it will help my K/D.
I always find the default works the best.
I have used default since I have started call of duty, it works for me.
