Deleting Dead Clans?

After i was done welcoming new members not long ago i noticed the amount of them looking to join a clan and get together with people to play the game. It made me go check out the clans and that gave me this idea.

I think, in the interest of new members, that we need to get rid of some of these old and dead clans. We have 167 pages of clans, the majority of which have 0 posts in them, and have not been updated in a year or more.

The fact that we have so many clans doesn't bother me in the least, but with the amount of people we have that join this site looking for a clan i think we owe it to them to have at least semi active clans easy to find.

I propose that we send a PM to all the clan leaders and give them a month or more to PM back and let the Admin's know that their clan is still active and looking for more members. Any clans that do not respond get deleted. I don't think this is really too much to ask of them. Its not as if the clan is deleted forever, should the people come back to the site and want to start their clan back up, they can feel free to do so.

This might even be something to do periodically to keep the clan list fresh. I know this sounds like a daunting task to undergo, and if needed i am willing to help out with this. Just getting this idea out there in the interest of the community as a whole.

Its not a bad idea.

We are going to be looking at the clan system soon.

I dont think "deleting old & unused stuff" is something we do here at IPC. However we need to do something.

If I may put my 2 COD cents in, Why not seperate them into 2 categories. the COD clans you have now and any inactive/old clans go into a seperate category. If there is some activity, have the Clan leader message one of the mods in charge of that section to move it back to the active clan roster

Either is a good idea. I just think something needs to be done to separate the active clans from the dead.
