Roast me if you will guys, but please read the entire letter first. I sent this out to activision today.

Activision/Treyarch,

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this email. I will try to make it as brief as possible. As an entity, you have succeeded in ruining my love for first person shooters. Call of Duty: Black Ops is by far one of the most god awful video games I have ever played. It does no justice to its predecessors. I would gladly slap World at War in my xbox and play it yet, sigh, I traded it in when I thought I was upgrading to a far better game in Black Ops. I still remember the night I brought this excuse for a game home, the twinkle in my eye at the thought of playing it for an hour before I must go to bed for work in the morning, and for that brief moment I was blinded by the euphoria that always comes along with a brand new Call of Duty. Now that it has been out for quite some time, I can finally see through the wool that you so dastardly pulled over my eyes. This game is complete trash, yet I must be honest, I continue to play it day in and day out. Yes, I traded in most of my other games in order to get Black Ops, so that could be one reason, but another reason most certainly is that you have succeeded in making a video game version of a drug. We feel so terrible after playing your game that we must come crawling back as to fill the void that it has left inside of us. We are desperately sucking for some kind of sustenance and are over and over again disappointed. Like a junkie, I fondly remember the good old times of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and hope that this new fix will bring the same results, but my wishes go unanswered. The funny thing though, is that I know I am not the only one with these feelings. Daily I go onto my facebook account only to see friends spilling out onto their walls the horrors of this game. I could go into detail of what is wrong with Black Ops, but that would be more of an essay and less of a letter, and anyways I truly feel that as gamers yourselves that you know what is wrong with this atrocity. Now, as I am addicted to just the name Call of Duty, I will indeed be waiting for the day that the next one comes out, but there will always be a sour taste in my mouth that has been left by Black Ops, and as sad as it is to say, I will never be able to look at the franchise the same. I know that you can justify throwing this letter out simply by the amount of money that the game has already made and will continue to make, but I beg you to really think about my words and what you have done to the genre of first person shooters. Thank you for your time, it is truly appreciated.

I have mixed feelings. Yes the game has issues but no more than the next. The reason more issues are noticed in CoD is because it is such a huge game and is widely played. Should Treyarch have done a public beta, YES. But there would still have always been problems and I think treyarch is doing a good job in fixing what they can.

Lets look at MW2 produced by IW. That was a great game but IW had issues internally and eventually pretty much abandoned the game and it became riddled with hackers and IMO was not even enjoyable to play anymore. This was the point where black ops came to the rescue to keep my interest in the game.

I definitely feel your pain and get frustrated with a lot of the issues as well but the game is fun and I enjoy playing even if i do get killed by a curving bullet around a corner, or occasionally skip around (which I have never seen the lag most people talk about but just an occasional skip here and there very rare for me)

TibTuner, you are definitely right, all games have issues, black-ops included. I think my main issue is that being such a big named brand, they should have put way more into it to make sure it was a great game instead of just a cash cow. I like your opinion on the beta. To me, it sometimes seems like they either never even played the game before they put it out, or only tested it over lan.

Sending a 'complaint' without listing what the problem is doesn't seem like an effective way to influence the changes you wish to see.

If I was Treyarch, I'd send you a copy of WaW and a contact sheet for Gamer's Anonymous groups to hug out your issues.

Yeah frankly if you just get a letter from someone saying they dont like something but they dont say why, your only option is to disregard it. After all you dont know what need to be changed then.

My issues with the game were mainly hit detection and their useless sniper rifles but there are plenty in the pot......Second bloody chance. Still i invite you to play MW2 with me if you want.

I love this game.

I also love that the most vocal part of any community will be the negative part, its a fact. It is obnoxious when that part, which in most cases is the community minority, claim that something is garbage without facts, and claim that the majority of people feel the same way they do.

Why not send them a valid reason for what is "broken" and has, "...left a sour taste in your mouth". Better yet, come up with feasible ideas that would fix these issues you have and send them to them as well.
