Spawn Trapping.

Is it cheating or just a good tactic?
I want opinions
As for me I do it and i think its part of the fun knowing that you can just obliterate the enemies to the point where they cant move?

Spawn trapping has been around since Halo 2 and Unreal Tournament 2003. It was integrated for competitive gaming. Developers are trying to build some maps for it and some against it. In objective style games, its not a race to score, its a race to trap your opponents.

Sucks when its happening to you.

I think it is great. A team that knows that there doing its just a play in the game. say we are playing demo on summit. A good team of 6 that knows what they are doing they could have 4 spawntrap and let 2 plant... Spawntrapping is not about stat whoring its about the ability to cut off the enemy team and let your teammates do the objective

I used to not do it until I was constantly getting trapped so I now do it but why play an objective based game if your not going to go for the objective? this pretty much defeats the whole purpose of the game mode. If I am playing demolition, I am playing it to go for the bomb not to see how bad I can spawn trap (or be spawn trapped). There have been a lot of games i have been in where the other team spawn trapped and lost the game overall. Ok so you got a lot of kills but you also got a loss so its pointless when you can just play the objective, get a bunch of kills and win the game.

I guess you can call it bi-winning?

The spawn trap is a bridge to a obj score. Like with TVA said, Q2E.

As everyone else is saying, it is indeed annoying and fun to do, as well as a great being a great use in objective games, but if you do spawn trapping in games like TDM where you have to kill to other team or other people to get points, it's really cheap. Otherwise, go ahead and do it on any other game mode, considering the kills don't even matter.

I am only saying i have seen many teams lose using that tactic against my team. Maybe thats not as common because i usually run with a full 6 man crew 90% of the time and we work together but while they are spawn trapping us we get 1 person out to plant or defuse and its over.
