    Default Black Ops PRS (Point Rewards System) concept

    What do you guys think about a better ranking system for Black Ops.
    I know they are not going to change it but what if...

    A point reward ranking system:
    Kill=2 points
    100 PPM=5 points
    Death= (-2) points
    Assist=1 point

    So:
    20kill/3assist/5death/200ppm TDM game = 43 reward points
    5kill/3assist/20death/100ppm TDM game = (-22) reward points
    If these were your first two games of TDM you would be ranked a PRS level 21

    Also a Win should reward you 50 points and a loss should deduct 50 points, after all it's a team game.

    And then combine the average of all games played to determine your reward points score. The PRS would have point reward categories changed for different game types.

    I guess it could work. Like you said they aren't going to change it but maybe they will for future games.

    It is the best way to determine true skill that I can put together. Games never seem to get a quality leaderboard figured out. I think this may be the best way to determine true skill.

    I know in MoH there is a "Skill Level" (I forget what it's called specifically though) but I don't know how it is scored. Anyway, you can lose and gain points toward your skill level based on your performance like you were describing. The skill level is different than the player level which I think I like. So I think I would be in favor of having something like this to try to get better matchmaking at least.

    this system intrigues me but to me this sort of sounds like the halo true skill thing. i mean i can see what your talking about but maybe do this for hardcore mode or maybe a new "true skill" mode? i dont see this going to the regular playlists. but its a good idea non the less.

    Yeah, it reminds me loosely of the way Halo does it. Well Halo 3 at least, haven't played too much Halo online since then.

    It got annoying at times though. Like it didn't work properly. Win 10+ games in a row, never level up, then lose one game and drop a level.

    exactly my point ham.....its a good system if implemented properly...if not its a broken way of saying "hey your good...but not good enough" lol

    I think it would work better than the Halo system because it would cover a more complete scope of the game. Many other systems go by points or kills alone, but all of the statistics from kills, deaths, ppm & assists would cover many unadressed players.
    For example it would moderatley reward that teammate that goes negative two kills everygame but gets ten assists, he would still get a possitive score. Afterall he did help his team and every two assits is the same as a kill. I think it would reward all play styles, however the guy that scores the most ppm often has the most death, so this system would lower his overall value, but if he had a high ppm and a high KDR he would be rewarded greatly.

    Thanks for the input, this was just an idea I thought would be an improvment.
