Really Insane Lag

Late last night Im talking after midnight so I guess that makes it early this morning lol...anyway...I was playing with 1 other guy in a party...we were playing headquarters and over the course of 3 or 4 games it was lagging really nasty especially at the start of matches. Not regular run of the mill lag either it was mother of all lag...it snapped out of it during a grid match but the others it didnt.

I was playing again today early afternoon and it was happening again in some lobbies...the funny thing is when I backed out of these games a couple times I was host...I have a wired connection to my 360 straight out of a broadband modem so its not slow...did anyone else experience this? Was 3arc possibly trying to make some tweeks to the game?

Nah bro, I haven't experienced the kind of lag you've been talking about, ever, and I run a wirless connection. maybe it was a fluke, who knows? Hopefully it won't happen again 'cause lag Super Sucks.

My buddies and I have had similar issues the last couple of days, especially with finding matches, then when in one, multiple host migrations...etc. We r on XBL

For about the last week I've had problems getting into match/find lobbies and even staying in one. Usually when I get kicked, it goes through host-migration a few times. I play on DSL.. which actually runs from the modem in a house about 150ft away into a router in this house, supports two computer AND my 360 (which is on a 50ft cable), but I'll still run a good 4-bar connection most of the time. One thing with COD is if, and this is IF you see someone with a 'Red Dot,' they lag up everyone else. Not all of the time, but it DOES happen. You're not the only experiencing connection issues, and some of the issues do come from other players.

Anyone have any ideas why?

I can only think of one situation that I can honestly say was horible the whole game, ussualy if sombodies connection is bad they get kicked after a couple minutes. I have not been on in a few days though so maybe something else is going on.

Keep an eye on the players in your game. Are people coming and going?.. Is there anyone with a 'Red Dot' connection in your game?, etc..

It's really hard to say. If you're hosting and most people have nice connections, it's gotta be the game itself. If you see players in your lobby having poor to decent connections, they could be downloading/uploading things on their computer which IS possible to interfere with how the game acts/responds connection-wise. I'm no pro with Internet connections as far as certain things are, but I've 'studied' how other players' connections interfere.

I run on DSL too, but with a 20ft wired connection, and it supports 2 computers and my 360 (or ps3, whatever is hooked up at the time). But a few months ago our provider came out with a "faster type of internet", and ever since then our speed has been shit. In my opinion, I dont think its the game part of the time, but the provider not being able to support all its users on its one server. For those of you on a standard Cable connection, I feel sorry for you. Saturdays must be brutal.

I think its not you, but the internet provider no being able to support all of its users (you and the other 49 or so other people) on the same server.

My suggestion woudl be to check with your provider to see if they are having any issues, are fixing something, or to find a faster service that isnt too much more expensive than what your using now.
