Will we see another release in Nov like we have past two years/ Sources say yes but no confirmation from Activision. Supposed to be set in Vietnam era... possibly Cold War time frame to to get some bouncing back and forth to different parts of the world.

CVG can confirm that Activision has pencilled in a November release for the seventh Call Of Duty - which will be set in the late 1960s, during the Vietnam War.

Following this week's rumours, a senior UK trade source today told us that the Treyarch-developed title is scheduled to arrive a full 12 months after last year's Modern Warfare 2.

They added that the game would be set during the Vietnam conflict - and takes particular influence from classic movies Apocalypse Now and Platoon.

"It's going to be November again - just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2," they told CVG.

"Activision believes that it can own Christmas 2010, just as it has in the last two years.

"Development is on course - and Treyarch have been told the game must be ready to hit shelves before the gifting season."

Activision declined to comment when contacted by CVG.

Hmm. We haven't seen too many games about the Vietnam War, so this one could be quite interesting.

Battlefield: Vietnam is the only one that I played. If they included the Vietcong tunnels, this could be an interesting, multi-level environment.

vietnam era would be very cool , they better get it in gear if they want to make a christmas deadline not littered with glitches, hacks & cheats

how come theres never any significant beta for COD, too big to beta? cmon one thing i applaude about MAG is the BETA, whther or not i like the game is a diff story but they are a good role model for a large scale game to BETA like that..now if we can only get Trey & IW to do the same

Infinity Ward is against public beta and I think they paid for not having one on MW2 with the glitches.

I'm not sure Treyarch's view of if it's an activision decision to not do it.

it seems like they would save time and money by doing a beta for pre orders closed betas dont reveal all the bugs, you have to mass circulate for these things to expose themselves. i imagine the money spent fixing the problems pales in comparison to the money made selling the title..i would like to know the real reasons why, be interesting
