Question about Hardened

So Hardened makes the bullets penetrate better, so you can kill someone behind a wall. Does it also affect the damage of the bullet at all? Because it says Hardened makes your bullets penetrate better, so I think about the bullets going deeper inside the person, causing more damage.

Its the same game mechanics as FMJ in MW2 and in MW2, FMJ did not increase damage, it just decreased the damage reduction that textures caused when the bullets went through, therefor making bullets penetrate better.

So based on that, I would say with 99% certainty that Hardened does not increase bullet damage, but has the same mechanics as FMJ from MW2.
