Your NAT Type
Your NAT type is Strict (or Moderate). People on networks with this NAT type may not be able to join certain games or hear other people while playing online.
Routers use NAT to direct Internet traffic to and from devices on your home network. For an optimal experience on Xbox LIVE, your NAT type should be Open. Moderate and Strict NAT types can restrict some Xbox LIVE functionality, such as joining multiplayer games and chatting online.
Note
NAT mainly affects multiplayer gaming and communications. You may still be able to download content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace with Strict or Moderate NAT.
Restart Your Network Equipment
In many cases, restarting your modem, router, and other equipment (also called "power-cycling") can fix the problem. This involves turning each piece of equipment off and back on in sequence. If you haven't done that already, give it a try now.

Other solution...
Solution: Enable UPnP on your router
UPnP can help make sure NAT works correctly for Xbox LIVE. Usually, this can be set on your router configuration web page, which is supplied by your router manufacturer.
Learn how to find and use your router configuration page
Look for the UPnP setting on the configuration page. When you find it, set it to Enabled, On, or similar. The exact setting varies by manufacturer and model. Then try to connect to Xbox LIVE again on your console.

I assigned my xbox it's own I.P. and then I put it in the dmz on my router settings interface. It also helps if you make sure all of the appropriate ports are open on your network. You can finds these on xbox live's website.

I am going thru this right now. I have one Xbox wired straight to the router and 2nd Xbox is wireless via adapter. No problems as far as connecting but 2nd Xbox shows NAT moderate where 1st Xbox is NAT is open. I've opened UPnP on router and reset but still no change. My wife and I are able to play sometimes but usually she is kicked before the end of a match. If we're in separate matches online play usually works fine for both of us. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cool website by the way.

Yeah the Moderate and Open NAT types of inviting to games can cause issues with connectivity. If doing the above doesn't work I'm not really sure where to go from there.

It also doesn't help that MW2 has the WORST party system of any game on XBL right now... A lot of my connectivity problems are on the other end of the line. :P

You might have a point there. I've yet to try any other games. All my gaming time is tied to MW2 since it came out.

I changed mine to open NAT ~ without it GB's can become an issue and I usually am the host ~ A fast and easy solution to the problem is your reset button (most newer routers have them) which are in the back, and a paper clip (or similar) will be needed to depress the reset button.
Here is how it works: Depress your reset button and hold it for about 10 seconds, then while the reset button is still depressed, unplug the routers power source, continue to hold the reset button until all lights are off. Then turn that sucker back on and the NAT should auto default to OPEN.

you can also turn off and then turn it back on. thats what worked for me atleast cause my UPnP was on but i awas still strict.
