Chantix
Chantix. If you have used it, does it work? Ive been smoking for almost seven years now and ive done everything to try and quit. I'm getting prescribed Chantix next week and just wanna hear some stories (hopefully successful) from people that have tried it. I read the ECig thread that we have on here but heard a lot of negative things from friends that used it. And if youre going to reply to this and say "Just go cold turkey, I did it." Dont even bother, everyones different, that shit doesnt work for me and going cold turkey makes me pissed off at the world and hate everyone.

My hubby tried it. It wasn't a success story though gave him night terrors (sleep walking). Numbed his ability I tell if his blood sugar was low as well. He stayed on a week before we decided he was going to hurt me fighting in his sleep or have a bad sugar episode. He's still smoking I successfully switched to ecigs, but not to the point of stopping nicotine altogether.
I do know of some people that have used chantix and never picked up a smoke again. You should definitely give it a try. Just be aware that there are some odd side effects that originally we didn't attribute to it.
Good luck! You have a support system here too! That's the most important thing!!!!!

Uh oh. Everytime i try to quit i have night terrors, i hope this doesnt make them worse. It really freaks my girlfriend out and the last thing i want to do it hurt her when i dont even realize what im doing. Usually sleep with my .40 on my night stand next to me. I'll definately have to tell her to hide that from me.

We have a rule. More than three moves to the gun and never chambered at night lmao. Yeah, it used to freak me out everytime. Now it's got to be really bad like can't wake him up bad.
He dreamed I had turned into a zombie once and I was lucky he decided to push me out of the bed in his dream and get up. He woke up after that though lmao. I can laugh at it now.
I hope you can come up with something. Hubby has been trying too. The best we have managed so far is no smoking in the house at all, it helps cut back without drivin him mad.

Thanks for your advice, ill have to try some of these things

I've seen some interesting ones. And yeah... Actually I was just mad at him until he told me the dream. It could have went so, so wrong. Especially since he's terrified of zombies lol. It is hilarious now though.
He dreamed the pillow ate me one night. My pillow got an ass kickin' lmao

I quit for good 12 years ago. Smoking outside in NYC in the winter was getting old. I was miserable and nasty for a couple of weeks but I replaced it with lifting weights every day. I tried to quit many times before that but always went back. Lifestyle change is the key but it's very tough to do. My dad tried the drug but it freaked him out so he went off it. He eventually quit too.

I workout everyday and always crave one after a good workout for some reason so that wont work. The lifestyle change is what i need to work on. My cravings are always when i wake up, after eating, after working out, while driving, and when im just bored. So just need to find something to replace these things.

I feel your pain, I have the most trouble in the car. Every time I get in the car that's the first thing I want to do.

Never tried chantix, but i tried that e cigarette bought it twice, cost over £100 both times, was really good. Tried nicotine patches, that nasty gum, the inhaler thing and for me none of them worked. Only time I have been successful, was when I went cold turkey using cold water and regular gum. I've quit smoking twice, once for 6 months and once for 8 Months but I always go back to it.
Problem with smoking is, you always want a cigarette. When you wake up, in the car, after food, after sex, after work outs and for me especially during drinking. You find a good solution let me know, i would really appreciate it.
