For all those that are fans and followers of all things Call of Duty, there are intrinsic and extrinsic values that are carried out and developed by people and gamers like us on the administrative side of the video game series we all hold dear. People like David Vondehaar are the creative minds behind the games we wait in lines for, buy up DLC for, just have all-out enthusiasm for. This thread, as mentioned by @THUMP3R, will relay the tweets from Mr. Vonderhaar and provide a possible roadmap for where the series is headed. Please keep any responses unbiased at those who report the word as they are not facts until we get supreme word and/or are visible in actual gameplay. REMEMBER: These are tweets we receive from following DavidVonderhaar at Treyarch and not solely a personal or public belief of any of the staff/administration here @ IPC:

    David Vonderhaar Treyarch Developer Tweets:

    @cszechai

    I like that idea but you'd have everything you wanted in the first 35 levels. Some say this made BO CP system "boring."

    --In response to the system of 'points' obtained being able to unlock weaponry and perks...a merit system if you will and utilized the shop at your discretion technique. The possibility of the system incorporating the design and privileges of MW3 being discussed.

    "YY. Exploit or legit advanced player tactic? Google it. We fixed and unfixed once already. It's controversial internally and with fans.

    --A reference to the obscure usage of the 'YY' technique where you would be able to toggle and quickscope faster than a normal toggle when utilizing a sniper rifle.

    "True or False. Perks/Proficiences (like Steady Aim/Quickdraw/Kick) interfere with gun balance; get in the way of making game competitive. Feel like we could see greater gun diversity & less "OP" weapons, if I could reserve those "properties" to be part of the base gun. Of course you have OP weapons if you can take ANY OF THE GUNS and make them fire fster, reload fster, be more accurate, and have less kick.

    @fredpiels

    The guns don't need Perks to be diverse. They can be diverse. Perks ensures they all have to be similar, so that the Perks don't OP any one of the properties of the gun. Some want to agree, but are scared that a bad or ok gun made tolerable or situational great by Perks will just remain bad. It's the wrong way to think about it that's comes from years of us abusing and conditioning you, perhaps, with crap gun tuning. If every gun had the 1 or 2 things it did well and the 1 or 2 things it did poorly, you'd have better gun balance. Perks can blow that up.

    --Looks like the name of the game for the supposed next title of Call of Duty will be similar to the Black Ops weaponry system with a little more tweaks to attempt to ensure that weapons will not be overpowered. However, if there are moves to make perks that increase the ability of a weapon to be over-utilized, then it will lead to the same complaints that a weapon is 'OP'. The possibility of doing away with Sleight of Hand, Rapid Fire, and Kick seems to be mulled over, but there is no definite way to ensure that equality will be obtained.

    @Cmsparague

    was talking about the Knifing system and how its fine. Unlike what everyone is complaining about. I’m fairly positive because in responses they are saying he needs to make it a secondary pick or it needs to be equipped.

    --
    With the clamor of the knifing system for MW3 (and from the problematic knifing system in Black Ops) being more on the side of negative, Treyarch developer David Vondehaar, in response to a tweeted question, has this to offer [above]

    A: Yes, but their is currently an unavoidable delay between the state of the game and matchmaking results. We have some ideas about how ... incentivize you to finish a match joined in progress and not wrecking your stats for doing so. Be good citizens; finish games.
    One of the more maddening things about matchmaking: How often do you attempt to join a match and go through the hubris of sitting around and chatting about stuff not at all related to the match and BOOM! You're in a Domination game where your team is down 30 - 165 with the opposing team having a Reaper and a Pavelow dominating the skies? Well, a simple cost-effective change to the matchmaking system could possible be in works. Also, how about putting less emphasis on a player's k/dr and putting it more on winning the match and possibly, in some small way, rewarding even the losing team. That way, you don't have people who dashboard or quit in the middle of a match. Granted, we all enjoy walloping a rival team, but it sure doesn't feel good being privy to the whipping. Make it valuable for a team to stay in a match.

    A: Very tricky. Blows up auto team splitting. Would result in the lobby being in a "can't start state" a lot. We keep looking at this ... but the UI ends up overly complicated and we end up with with lots of race conditions
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_condition. Technically, easy. We know that this would result in lots of games that are always ending via enemy team forfeitures which equally sucks.

    Want to add a much-needed teammate aka @Trukil1 or @THUMP3R in the middle of a run? Well, forget any momentum you have in the game, you would have to back-out and pick the teammate up. Man, that just maddens the situation when you're going up against a team of Christmas Noobs or you're winning a neck-to-neck Domination game with a really chill clan (Remember that, @DiG1TaLs?). It would be a positive if you could have the ability to pick a teammate up so that a) your continuity is there and the momentum remains or b) so your teammate isn't getting stuck on a team that doesn't have any cohesion and you end up taking a hit and end up in the slaughterhouse score-wise.
