JD 2020 Leaving - It is a business folks
Reading the tweets @JD_2020 make me LOL and I'm sure they make him laugh as well. It's not as simple as just answering every question that gets posed to you.
What you kids are forgetting is there is a business behind the game. There are rules that all employees must follow. Being part of said business and working for a huge corporation that has such an appeal to the masses means EVERYTHING you say is looked at as if it's under a microscope.
I have the luxury of only being a fan site so I get to say what I want when I want. You are absolutely off your rocker if you don't think that JD 2020 and 402 would love to just tell you everything they know. They are fans first. They want to spill the beans just like you want them to.
But they can't guys... goes back to that business thing. You have marketing plans and schedules to release information at certain times. Business/Corporate responses to certain types of questions. Asking them to break this rule that would ultimately get them fired or severely in trouble is ludicrous.
I have direct access to these guys and can't even get them to answer me things off the record. Do you think they are going to publicly put it on Twitter where it will travel to around a million people after all the RT's and major gaming news sites pick it up?
You may not like the people behind the roles but they do their jobs very well. It's not easy to manage millions of fans and take the feedback in and put it back to the dev team so they can improve the game. No matter what they do, they will always piss someone off due to how large the community is.
JD 2020 did a great job doing community management for Treyarch and 402 does a fantastic job at Infinity Ward. Just remember, these two are not the only one's who work on the game. There's an entire studio behind them doing the game. They are our spokespersons to the company to get features we want. Badgering them and telling them they suck dick will not get your next opinion heard regardless of how well composed it is.

Incredibly well put Nuck. And I couldnt agree more. Here's to wishing JD_2020 a very productive future. The work he put in at Treyarch wont be forgotten, and he'll do just as good a job at his next opportunity.

Why did he leave exactly? Money issues? Just not seeing eye to eye with Treyarch?

Very well said. So many people forget that these guys are just the community managers and seem to suffer the most. JD did a good job and I wish him the best in whatever he does next.

He did do a good job and while I reserve the right to bitch about many things that happen in Black ops, it was nice to have someone out there TRYING to please the community and make our gaming experiences better. I've been thoroughly impressed that lately call of duty games have had guys like this out there as the face of the game, doing what they can. There is a reason the game gets updated often and there is a whole lot less cheating and hacking going on.
I'm sure he'll turn up again in the gaming world
