Flanking Guide:
To start off the first thing that you are going to want is to set up a stealth class, my favorite can be found here:
http://www.iplaycod.com/forums/70-mw...cod#post156130
This class features Marathon, Cold Blooded, and Ninja (all pro perks) to aid in your sneaky approach to the coveted Tactical Nuke. The main weapon is a UMP45 with a Suppressor attachment and the secondary is the M93 Raffica with a suppressor as well. However, the key and possibly one of the most important parts to this class is the THROWING KNIFE. Never underestimate the effectiveness of a knife that can kill from a longer distance than the commando perk and recovers a lot faster than a regular knifing. IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE! So always remember to keep it and get good with it. And perhaps most importantly, as long as you can track where it goes, you can never really lose it!
Ok, now that that is taken care of, lets start with the actual flanking guide. To flank, I follow a general set of rules:
1) NEVER run around blindly in the middle of the map hoping to get a kill.
2) try to stay crouched when in an area with a lot of hostiles.
3) NEVER camp
4) Always try to hold down a specific part of the map for a small amount of
time, as long as you don't conflict with rule #3
5) Try to get as close to the enemy as possible
6) Conserve your ammo, use your gun(s) as a LAST RESORT
7) Use the regular knife AND the throwing knife while flanking multiple
enemies
8) Patrol the outside perimeters of a map, don't go near the middle
9) Focus on busting campers and stragglers
10) When spotted, drop shot to avoid harm and find a new location quickly
11) Shoot accurately! Single shots for long range! (although I don't
suggest trying to shoot someone that far away
Now with those 11 rules in play, it will easier for you to spot and stalk an enemy. To use these rules effectively is another thing though. Many will get bored with this and give up, but with great patience comes great reward. My best game with this class was 36-4 TDM by simply following these rules.
When you see an enemy the first thing to do is stop, assess and then flank or as I like to call it, SAF.
Stop: Stop where u r and either drop down or crouch if you can without
being spotted
Assess: Give time (1-4 seconds) to locate any other hostile threats around
that area
Flank: Find and take a route where u can keep the enemy insight, but be
careful not to be spotted
Try to know the maps inside and out and try to use that knowledge to your advantage. But the most important topic I can cover in this thread is STAY OUT OF SIGHT! If the enemy can't see you, they can't kill you!
The last topic in this thread is situational awareness that basically follows the A in SAF.
If you know that there are campers on the roof of a building with their backs turned away from the way in, then take that way in by flanking and staying low and out of sight, then throw a knife at one's back and knife the other, collect your knife and get out of there. The reason for this is if people are playing together, a lot of times they have mics to call you out. If you just knife both there is that chance that they get something out to their partner before you can recover enough to knife the second one leaving him with an easy knife kill.
Now go on to master this art of stealth and be on your way to achieving that nuke the fun way! Good luck!
(My killstreaks at the time are Pavelow, AC-130 and Nuke (although I just got this game and have yet to achieve one, but have gotten close))
Thank you for your patience and time in reading this article and be sure to follow the 2 simple rules for this thread, thank you!
