Well, children is what mostly play this game so yea, they have to or go out of business.
Activision created a two headed monster in COD. Pub side and competitive side .. they have to adhere to both sides. They can not create the game to fit just one side. If they do, well ... Ya know. :/
Take it as a give and take situation. They give you the ability to shoot, kill and show your skills but they also limit you based of factors they know they can control and they know you'll keep coming back for more as long as they "introduce" new and exciting features.
This game is geared towards children. It's not going to change. COD is becoming so big, so large, before to long ... it's going to consume so much time, energy and money that they are going to have to produce a better product year in and year out or shit will hit the fan.
I mean, seriously, what other legit, non-contact "Sport" (and I use the word "Sport" loosely) can a kid become so good at it, become so popular and make up to 6 figures by just play a game?
It's only going to get bigger, better bud. Either you're a COD fan or not. There is no in between anymore.
Also, it looks as if there is no Slight of Hand for faster reloads.![]()
Give the kiddies their own playground for quickscoping seperate from the grown ups who want to play the objective then...
Everybody is happy...
I think it's a shame that kids don't get out more...
Personally my Mother never saw me in the school summer holidays unless I was hungry. Outdoors, playing, exploring, fishing, swimming, etcetera...
Makes you wonder what will become of these future adults...
THIS IS A NO FLY ZONE...

Now an attachment called Fast Mags.
Basically anythng that affects a weapons performance is now an attachment (such as Sleight Of Hand, Steady Aim, Deep Impact, Quickdraw)
Anything which alters player attributes is a perk. (such as Lightweight, Ghost, Marathon / Extreme Conditioning)
Simple when you think about it. Another "why didn't they think of that before?" moments.
This is a misconception. You would be surprised at the actual statistics of "gamers". Most households are "gaming" households now. Even 1 out of 3 people over 50 play some sort of game. Can you believe that 42% of gamers are female? Sure, they may prefer dancing games over FPS games but there are still a large number that play CoD.
According to the economist & esa:
"So who plays? The stereotypical image of the gamer—teenaged, male and probably rather nerdy— has hardly changed in 20 years. But it is no longer accurate, if it ever was. Today the average age of players in America, the biggest market, is 37, and 42% of them are female, according to the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), an American trade group. Some 72% of households in America play games of some sort, says the ESA. Even among the over-50s the share is one in three."
In no way, shape or form is this game geared towards children. Sure, it's not a realistic shooter. I've played ultra-realistic shooters on the competitive level and this is completely different. It is an arcade style FPS game not a simulator. However, that does not make it "geared towards children". Lots of adults don't want to play simulators and prefer the fast paced arcade style like CoD.
Well lots actually and they have better odds of getting paid MORE money than in gaming. There are lots of non-contact sports that pay tons of money and the competition is nothing compared to gaming. (Golf, Tennis, etc) Millions of people game while only thousands participate in most "sports" and to get to the point that you are getting paid to game is a true longshot. Less than 0.001% of gamers will ever receive any kind of compensation for gaming and I'm including free stuff and trip vouchers in that. Most "professional" gamers never get a real paycheck. They may get some free equipment or get their travel paid for but never a real check to pay bills with.
YouTube commentators are a different group and in the short run a very small percentage may actually get paid some money. However, with the newer technology coming out the number of players that can do what they do is hugely increasing, so the novelty of it is already wearing thin. Companies are starting to realize that these vid makers are not in short supply. Therefore their checks will get smaller and smaller if they don't disappear completely.
I don't want to rain on anyones parade but I hate to see young people go on with false hope about making a living by gaming. You probably have a better chance of winning the lotto. If you want a career in gaming maybe you should look at the design or marketing aspects of it as a future. Gaming is just getting bigger and bigger every year. Find a innovative way for companies to make money advertising in games and you will become valuable.
Chicks dig the gray hare.

Nice info and videos guys, I appreciate it. I'm getting super stoked for this game. I agree with you buddahacrous, these sounds are awesome. The explosions sounds really deep and bassy.
I watched the entire livestream last night and I really like what I am seeing. I was no fan of Black Ops in the beginning but I have become a big fan of Treyarch. After revisiting BO1 I began to enjoy it in spite of the bad sound and weak graphics. BO2 looks to have improved on both fronts.
That said, I really do dislike quickscopers but they are easy to beat in an objective game if you are smart about it. I ran into a clan of skilled quickscopers in Drop Zone last night and even though I was on a team of randoms we just played the objective regardless of them picking us off left and right and destroyed them. The whole clan rage quit before the end.
I can't wait for this game to release!
