My def of camping is sitting in a small portion of a map and not moving (if you die, your instinct is to go right back).

It's usually annoying, and either works good for the person because theres always that revenge minded person, or works against them and they only get like 2 kills. It's annoying, pretty lame too haha.

I do find it a reasonable tactic in FFA though. The spawns in MW2 are pretty bad in FFA, so to avoid getting hit in the back, the easiest strategy is to post up. Make sure to use a gun without a silencer, whore out claymores, and let them come to you. Cheap, but it does work extremely well in FFA.

In my case, I don't think I camp. In TDM I usually pick a part of the map, say the A Dom side of the map on Rundown, and I'll pretty much stick to that side of the map. I don't sit in one place, am constantly moving and killing, but mainly sticking to that side. I try to maximize choke points while putting danger to myself at a minimum. In objective games though, I'm usually all over and doing what it takes to win (capping, flipping spawns, whatever).

Camping on team based games is just as common as camping on FFA. There's a lot more camping on FFA with the claymores in the really "common" fighting ground everyone decides on every map.

Camping to me is owning a 2 by 2 square ft of the map the entire game...


We all camp unconciously... for example when im sniping i try my luck on one spot if i can pick up guys easily i just stay there for a while, but in this case its basically cus im not a good sniper...
When i play it safe i like to camp and run.
Its just a strategy, those who master the game like run and gun but those who are new or dont control the game like to camp and get those kill they cant get any other way.

I hate when people say "I NEVER camp!" Everyone camps at one point or another whether it's subconsciously or not.

One more thing I hate is when people just assume you are camping. For instance when I sit in a corner reloading and then some turd runs right infront of me so I kill them. Then I get a message saying something along the lines of "you camping faggot!". That just really grinds my gears.

Camping is a tactic in which a player will obtain a strategic position anywhere on the map and wait for players to arrive and be killed, or waiting for useful objects to appear in an area rather than actively seeking them out. Players camp in order to gain an advantage over their opponents. Camping is usually performed by locking down an area vital to the enemy's success, therefore more players will arrive to be killed than in any other position in the map.

Camping is where you sit in the same spot for the majority of the game with either a sniper or any gun looking down your sights the whole time with 2 claymores behind you and around corners where nobody can get you. THATS CAMPING!!!!!! I still do it occasionally but I try to avoid it as much as I can. I will do it if the whole team is coming for me and keep going down the same path, which will help me get A S*** LOAD OF KILLS. (plz dont hate me for doing this)
