Thumbs up My tips for n00bs

Alright, so I am a semi-noob myself and I figured it might help some other people to tell you what has helped me.

So I have been working really hard to just succeed in the game. I have a few things that have helped me alot.

First off... if you are new don't try and rush. If your accuracy isn't the best and you are not getting many kills, don't rush. Take your time working through the map. Take cover and try to play as tactical as possible. You will see people before they see you and it will give you more time to kill them before they kill you

Second... play on some private matches with friends. People on ipc are very willing to help if you don't have many friends that play COD. Also if you have Black Ops, play combat training. It will help with your accuracy and give you more confidence. Have your friends go a little easy on you until you get it. This will help you get to know the maps a bit more. You can also have your friends tell you where the high traffic zones are on the maps.. that helps as well.

Third... get some fps freeks if you have the money. They are 10 dollars and have helped me more than you would think. It gives you more control of your aim and will help your accuracy.

Next..Use a silencer. It will hide your location from the enemy team, therefore you will die less and get more kills.

Next..Run along the outside of the map so you dont get ganged up on as much. You might get less kills, but you will also die alot less.

Try to not panic when you are killed or someone is shooting at you. Music helps me alot. It makes me calm and from getting too aggro/ragey. The angrier you get the worse you do.

Keep your game volume up so you can hear footsteps and where people are shooting from. This will let you know where the enemys are.

Try different guns to figure out what you are good at. Go on COD elite and see which guns your accuracy is better at and use those.

You might want to pump your trigger (burst fire) so that you are not wasting ammo as well.

I'm sure there are more that I can't think of right now but I hope this has helped.

As a noob to another, the only tip I can give is to NOT look at the scoreboard during a game. Cause if you do bad it will make you angry and if you do good you get nervous. Either way you will end up with a bad result / kd.

Well put and some good tips in there. Like you said, keeping your attitude in check is more important then people think. When you get frustrated/mad (which is sometimes out of your hands with mw3 because of the lag) you tend to play worse. At least I do, if I can just brush off getting killed my some guy being silly in a corner and just move on I do much much better.

It's important to stick with a mentality of just having fun even if you're super competitive. Sometimes people will always seem to have the jump on you or maybe you forgot to check that one dark corner where billy the vampire camper resides. But, if you can let that go, the rest of the game won't go to shambles. =)

I completely agree with this, once I look at a scoreboard and see how I'm doing, if I'm doing good I start to suck and if I'm doing bad I suck even more.

Thanks for the tips...I for one rage a lot and once I do I start to suck, so I just have to stay calm and I usually start to do good again.

Expect the unexpected. Always assume someone is around that corner you're about to turn. HIPFIRE! HIPFIRE! HIPFIRE!

I still don't follow through with this myself from time to time either and more often then not it bites me in the ass.

You are on the money with these tips. All of these have helped me. Instead of turning my tv up I just bought some turtle beach px5. Since I lost my old Fps Freeks, I'm thinking about ordering another set today because you reminded me lol.

This is probably my biggest downfall. I find myself dying all the time because I'm rushing around corners to fast and not thinking or aiming before I do. I get into a bad habit of rushing to keep up to the match speed when I should really be slowing down. Also it's a good habit to turn around time to time. Always watch your back and the direction your teammates are facing.

Flash bangs be aware they can be used to get hit markers around places your not sure about. Also if you start to shoot someone and they get away don't chase they will most likely be laying on the floor waiting. Go around or move away from there. its best to always find a better way around or to sit an wait.
