Help for Beginner

I know I will probably get flamed for making a beginner help thread, but I need serious help

I am new to CoD MW3 actually new to FPS games all together, have been playing about a week now. I am getting better but it is taking a painfully long amount of time.

I am addicted to rushing and just started hip firing yesterday. I was curious is there any way to practice along in game on strafing and firing for a rusher. I have a hard time keeping my sights centered when trying to strafe/walk and a lot of the times I find myself stop and stand still in one place and get lit up.

Also if anyone has time can you critique my build:

Flashbang
SoH
Hardline
Steady Aim
Last Stand
Support (UAV/Vests/Drone) I play a lot of KC

If I play FFA I normally switch to a specialist build and will go Assassin for Perk 2.

This is my best advice on the topic of learning MW3:

When starting out, stick to the perimeter of the map and work clockwise (or counterclockwise) and work in circles around the maps to learn them. Don't venture into the middle until you have the perimeters memorized.

Use the "support" strike package to start. It doesn't reset when you die. You may die alot being a noob and having the assault strike package on may be a waste.

Remember that I CAN HEAR YOU WHICH MEANS I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE. This is not BLOPS where the sound sucks. The sound in this game is good and a lot of us have good headphones and we can hear your footsteps. The dead silence perk isn't unlocked until a high level so the noobs are easy to hear. If you crouch you don't make as much noise.

Attitude is everything. If you play scared your score will reflect it. If you camp your score will suck and you won't enjoy the game. Be aggressive and get out there and kill the bad guys. Have a good time. You may die a lot, but so what? If so adapt and become the "support" guy. Run the support class with a SMAW, recon drone & EMP. Everyone loves to have that guy on their team. You could have a negative K/D and still be the highest scoring player running the recon drone.

It's a game and this game did a good job of creating roles for every player. Support/Assault/Specialist. Just find out which kind of player you are and own it.

I will change the ump IMO for the pp901 if u want want to shoot from the hip and get steady aim

Thump pretty much said it all. Keep at it, skill comes from experience. Stalker is a great perk for a rusher too

I like to rush too, especially FFA gameplay. you might want to give this setup a shot

PP90M1-Extended mags/silencer
FMG akimbo
P1-S.O.H
P2-Assassin Pro
P3-Stalker

If you can get good with this class setup, once you switch it up to the MP7 you'll own. Get rid of hardline, in my opinion it's a waste of a perk. Eventually you'll get good enough to run a 5-7-12 killstreak with no problem. Practice your hip fire and strafe. The Stalker perk helps with strafing and will help you win a lot of gun fights. I would just play FFA until you get good and then start jumping into other gameplays, that's what i did and i'm a much better all around player now, i can play any game type and keep a positive k-d, usually getting one of the higher scores on the team. Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

I'd change the primary to mp7 w/silencer, secondary mp9, w/silencer, bouncing betty, flash, martydom, sleight of hand, assassin, stalker... and try not to run so much

Wow, I wasn't expecting a reply so soon. Thanks everyone for the info. I unlock the MP7 in 3 more levels so I will put that into a class as well as the PP90. I only use Hardline and mix it with support to help boost my experience and assist me teammates in KC.

I'd say to not rush all the time. You'll get a lot better if you keep playing.

make sure you use rapid fire with the smg's and if ur not shooting down every spyplane don't use hardline till you are better. As for using support, i know you wanna help your team but most people are selfish that play and only care bout themselves. I'd only use support if you are playing with a group of friends that you can rely on to help you. (ex. shooting down spyplanes cause you're running hardline) otherwise I'd use assault. like lindmando said slow down a little, just run from cover to cover and def don't run around corners. always aim down the sights when you come around a corner, don't turn around the corner either. 1st turn and strafe. Most of all don't worry too much about your kill/death and focus more on not dying
