    Default Recording Help

I was looking to make a montage and do commentaries but I hVe no idea where to even start. I was just wondering what I would need to do it and how to get the footage from my Xbox to my computer. Also what a good editing program would be. Sorry if this is in the wrong place just didn't know where to put it. Thanks in advanced!

A HD PVR to record, then a program like corel I think its called to edit. You can edit with Windows movie maker, but that program sucks and I don't know if you can do voice-over with it.

Sweet could I pick one of those up at best buy or should I order online. Any specific brands that stand out?

I'm not sure if best buy has that stuff... I'd recommend newegg.com personally. They usually have good prices and lots of reviews for comparisons.

Awesome I'll check it out thanks. Last question I've got is how do I get it from the pvr to my laptop? Is there a transfer cord or what?

Never used one myself, but I'd assume it just uses a USB.

Hauppage makes an HD PVR that most of the YouTube guys use. You are going to spend a few hundred bucks to get up and running. Editing video is so much easier on a Mac though.

I had a dazzle at one point, and it works for it's purpose but if you want the best quality i'd say go for the PVR. For the HD PVR you have to get it online from the manufacturer or retailers listed. You can go to Hauppage.com I have the gaming HD PVR and i love it. It comes with all of the adapters and such you'll need as well as the recording program so you wont have to worry about that. Make sure you do some research for proper settings and what not for recording though.

As far as editing goes, i love Sony Vegas Pro. It's pretty easy to use (you can watch tutorials online if you're not familiar with editing) and it's got a wide variety of features. Also, to go with that, make sure you do research for that as well for HD render settings.
