    8071053D - Hard boot the PS3, turn off the PS3 to stand-by, flip off the back swtich and remove the power cord. Then shut off your modem/router, for about 5 mintues, then turn the modem back up first and let it sync, then turn the router back on(if using one) and let it sync. Reconnect your power cable and flip the back swtich up again. Then make a new network connnection.

    Right, that's exactly what I kept trying, didn't work for me. It was probably just the network having issues.

    I don't know the whole story behind what happend, but it's fucked up that they affected millions of users (possibly) just because two of their buddies got hosed or whatever happend to them.

    Maybe if I knew the full story I would feel differently, but come on people just because you are angry do ruin it for the rest of the people.

    all of the articles at the below link describe the ongoing saga with Sony and the Hackers.

    FailOverflow hacks PS3 : :: TheGuruReview.net ::

    It was a big issue because Sony deemed the PlayStation unhackable but these guys broke the encryption in the OS

    With the career field I've been in for the last 10 years, I know for a fact that if it has a connection to the web nothing is unhackable. There are flaws to every operating systems, you just need to understand code and how to exploit it.

    Also that guy michael writing those articles needs to learn how to use grammar and spell check. My brain hurts from trying to read that article.

    haha yeah I agree his spelling is awful. I am in IT so I know anything is hackable but Sony pride themselves on the encryption of the PlayStation and I have to give them credit, it took 4 years for someone to break it now they just need to figure out how to secure it again.

    I think I'd rather see a PS4 than a fix to the PS3.
