Default Chickins new Agway

Well I bought another one. This one has a 12.5hp Tecumseh engine that RUNS and the rear end WORKS and it GOES (but not very well).

So everything works, with a few minor problems. The starter solenoid is bad ($15 replacement), so I have to bypass it (see pics), the tires dont hold air so I need to buy tubes, and the F-N-R control and speed control scheme is a bit sketchy and unpredictable. But for $50 cash delivered to me, I feel it was a good investment.

For the time being, it will be used as a mower (if the deck works) until I get my 64" Ariens, which then I will turn the tiny Agway into a Street Racer of some sort (I will put smaller tires on or something and run it lower to the ground).

The orange wire with the prong connector is what I use to start the tractor. I turn the key to run, and touch the wire to the positive terminal, turning it over. I then take it off and coil it up out of the way.

I am not gonna lie, Rubbr Chickin, you amaze me sometimes... This time in a good way, though.

So I did some research, and tubes for all 4 tires is gonna be $58, plus the Solenoid which is $13. Not too bad.

The deck was seized, the bearings froze up. I dumped oil on them and spun them around a bunch of times and they are pretty loosened up, which is good because they are $65/ ea to replace.

Also put in a switch for the lights to save some battery since I only have 1 to share between 3 possible tractors until I get my second replaced.

Deck wasnt too bad, a lot of rust and I made a few holes but no biggie. Blades are pretty good so I will just sharpen them and put them back on after I get new bolts to hold them onto the pulleys (the old ones were really rough).

Im hoping to get the rear end into the air as well so I can try to figure out how to drive the damn thing, the speed changer seemed loose and I think it might have come undone.

Engine was running really rough so ive been running it first at mid throttle before going to max to help get it warmed up to working again.

All for now. Cant wait to get this thing moving so I can get it out from in front of my damn garage.
