Battlefield 3 Coming In November, Designed to Take Down Call of Duty
Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello said today that Battlefield 3 has been designed with a clear goal in mind: to go toe-to-toe with Activision's FPS juggernaut and take down Call of Duty.
Kicking off the Ad Age Digital Conference in New York today, John Riccitiello delivered a keynote speech in which he described gaming as the "new mass media." John Riccitiello said his company will roughly spend around $100 million marketing DICE's upcoming shooter, Battlefield 3, when it launches this fall. And EA fully expects Activision will be doing the same with the latest, as yet unannounced Call of Duty game, putting the two titles face-to-face in a $200 million marketing deathmatch.
"This November, we're launching Battlefield 3. It's going up against the next Call of Duty, which is presently the number one game in the game industry," he said. "A game that last year did $400 million dollars in revenue on day one. Battlefield 3 is designed to take that game down."
Battlefield 3 is being designed for Windows PCs, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Pff. More like BattleFail 3. The first few were no competition. Unless Activision is working along side EA on that game and going out their way to ensure that this next CoD is good, but no better than BFBC3.. I doubt it'll happen. They are on the top of their game with throwing out these CoD games. Even though people bitch a moan upon every release of them.. People STILL run back to it and buy the new ones that come out. They always seem to slip just enough in to have us wanting more. Don't get me wrong, other games do too. The thing is, most other games seem to throw out all stops no the release. They don't have anywhere to go from there. Gets hard to better themselves. With CoD, it seems they started off rocky in the beginning and now they have climbed to being one of the top selling game series. They are at their peak now with no thoughts of looking back. Although I feel if Socom was for all consoles(Sadly same goes for Halo even though I don't want to admit it :P ), it would give CoD a run for its money.. Isn't happening. As of now CoD is just untouchable.

Every game has it's rise and fall, but for Call of Duty to stomp on it's 1st title and still be at the top, its a good game.

Battlefield is not a miniscule compared to CoD. They have been making Battlfield game before even Call of Duty.
Has anyone even played Battlefield 2? That game was awesome. Huge maps, dedicated servers, vehicles: land, sea, and air including jets. If they put as much effort with Battlefield 3 as they did with 2 and not like Bad Company, I look forward to it.

Battlefield 3 will be more of a Realistic Game, then the unannounced Call of Duty game. I believe Battlefield takes more skill to play on multiplayer than Call of Duty. Each Game brings somthing different to the table
